Successful FY23 for Banneker-Douglass Museum Development

As we near the close of the fiscal year, we are so excited to announce that we have exceeded our fundraising goal for FY23! Thank you to our supporters, including the We Rise Committee and those who attended our Juneteenth Donor Mixer on June 13th, who put us over the top for a grand total of  $215,975!

At our donor mixer, guests enjoyed an evening of live performances, delicious hors d’oeuvres, and fellowship. Dr. David Fakunle and Mama Deborah regaled guests with African drum and song, and the Annapolis Symphony Academy serenade guests as a violin duo. Delegate Shaneka Henson provided words of inspiration as our guest speaker. And the backdrop of the evening was the current exhibition, ‘The Radical Voice of Blackness Speaks of Resistance and Joy’.

We look forward to continuing impactful and engaging programming and exhibitions this fiscal year and beyond for the enrichment and empowerment of Maryland’s African American heritage.
